In the
take away the club-head should swing right up that plane angle
until it is parallel to the ground, when the club-shaft is
parallel to the ground it should be parallel to the target
line. If it is parallel to the ground and parallel to the
target the club-head is in direct line with my hands and you
can't see the shaft from this picture. The club-face is open
relative to the target but square to the arc the club is swinging.
For every
right movement in the golf swing there can be two wrong movements.
For example in the take away, the club could either go out
too much above the plane, or in too much inside or under the
plane. Once the club is off plane the rest of the swing will
be dedicated to get it back on plane. Or the face of the club
can be too open or closed and with every mistake in the golf
swing there has to be a compensation.
Get in a mirror and work on the take away for a few minutes
everyday and you will be on your way to a better golf swing.
